Assessment

Examinations

  • There will be Two Semesters in a year - First and Second. There will be an examination at the end of each semester, along with two Internal Assessments in every semester.
  • Students must pass in the aggregate for each subject. For promotion at Evergreen, a minimum of 40 per cent marks in each subject is required from Grade 1 onwards.
  • Absence from one or more subjects involves the loss of grades for those subjects and excludes the student from being reckoned in the order of merit in the examination.
  • Pupils absent from an examination, for any reason, are not re-examined.
  • Those absent from a test due to illness must produce a valid medical certificate.
  • For sufficient reasons such as unsatisfactory progress, insufficient attendance, or serious misconduct, a pupil may be debarred from an examination.
  • No student with less than 80% attendance will be permitted to appear in the final examination.
Academic Progress

Promotions Policy

  • At the end of the year, promotion to the next grade will be decided on the basis of the whole year's work. Regular attendance and steady effort are conditions for promotion.
  • Failure in two or more subjects renders a pupil liable to repeat the class.
  • Consistent neglect of any subject, whether core or elective, will not be condoned.
  • In view of the year's average determining eligibility for promotion, no re-tests will be held. Results declared at year-end are final.
  • A pupil who fails in several subjects throughout the year, or who fails a second time, will have to leave the school.
  • Answer sheets of the Final Examination will not be shown to students or parents/guardians.
